About Us

The Greater Ishpeming Commission on Aging is a nonprofit organization, our mission is to provide and coordinate services to all persons 60 years and older residing in the City of Ishpeming, and the Townships of Ishpeming, Ely, Tilden, Humboldt, Champion, Republic, and Michigamme. The purpose of these services is to promote the independence, safety, dignity, and well-being of the older adults in our service area.

The Greater Ishpeming Commission on Aging is housed in the Ishpeming Multi-Purpose Senior Center. We are funded by a variety of sources including Marquette County Senior Millage, UPCAP, Michigan Office of Services to the Aging, United Way of Marquette County, and the generous donations of individuals, businesses and organizations in our community. In accordance with all applicable federal and state laws the Greater Ishpeming Commission on Aging does not discriminate in the provision of its services or in employment.
